Why I'm standing

My strengths are my understanding of how council works, my big picture, strategic approach and natural leadership which means I get things done. Leading change is what I do. The strengths I have are vital in this time of opportunity and challenge. This is why I am running for council. It is vital we have a team of elected members who are first and foremost focused on working together in the best interests of the city.

About me

I work hard for my community and at being a valued member of the elected member group. I do this by being an active participant in council meetings and activities. This contributes to a functional council. I take a balanced and respectful approach to decision-making and uphold decisions whether I am in the majority or not. I look forward to supporting a new mayor who will be focused on developing a positive council culture.

My priorities
  1. Work with the new mayor to ensure we have a positive culture within the elected member team.
  2. Ensure the mall becomes an asset and does not cause the loss of our independent retail stores.
  3. Approach the local government reform with logic and a balanced approach to get the best result for our community.
