Invercargill City Council

The Invercargill City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

Wishing to be a full time mayor or councillor, working 24/7 for everyone, representing you and all of the Invercargill community, with a good understanding and respect for the wishes of the wider Invercargill community, good governance skills and the ability to promote and represent Invercargill on the regional, national, and world stage. An ambassador for Invercargill City and Southland, locally, regionally, nationally, and globally, have contacts nationally and internationally, in pretty much every nation.

About me

A strong voice in Central and local Government sectors, with the contacts, wisdom, maturity and experience, in fact 35 years of political experience, both from the outside and inside local – central government, as a community good, environmental advocate making submissions and lobbying local and central government. Over the past three years as a Bluff Community Board member listening to and acting on what you the community have indicated are your wants and needs.

My priorities
  1. See the restoration of people empowerment, equality and equity, focus on restructure local government!
  2. Climate change mitigation, ensure wellbeing for all people, create a sustainable and certain future!
  3. Create a world leading city, nurture an example we can showcase to the world, all united, together!
