Manurewa Local Board

The Manurewa Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of eight members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I have had the privileges of citizenship and feel this is an opportunity to give back to my community, using the skills I have developed.

About me

I have extensive governance and management experience, within education and in community situations. I am able to work collaboratively with others to achieve consensus-driven outcomes. I respect the views of others and am willing to adapt my views in the light of new information. I am used to managing finances and working within policy parameters. I have managed staff and been a leader in many situations.

My priorities
  1. Reduce emissions and encourage greater use of public transport.
  2. Ensure housing planning caters for green spaces and areas for children to play.
  3. Encourage recycling and expand inorganic collections.
