Why I'm standing

Manurewa deserves elected leaders who better reflect the communities they represent, I'm particularly concerned about the lack of disabled people in leadership, the Local Board needs diversity of thought and experience, these decision-makers often neglect our needs. I'm standing again as the Board has failed to deliver transport projects we've campaigned for since 2013. People power forced them to keep Te Mahia train station open, but promised multi-million dollar upgrades aren't done –where'd the money go?

About me

Manurewa is where I've always lived and worked, my upbringing drives me to serve my community. My blindness helped me become an experienced leader representing disabled people, with strategic thinking, relationship building, and problem-solving skills to offer. I bring governance experience, passion for community advocacy, and broad networks to this role. The local board's National Party wannabes have blocked Manurewa's progress, opposing it for purely political reasons. I hope to serve in collaboration with other progressive leaders.

My priorities
  1. Fix up the board's failure to deliver Te Mahia train station Park and Ride, find the missing money!
  2. Restore free access to swimming pools, because it's the right thing to do for local families.
  3. Encourage more walking and cycling with safe and effective bike lanes and footpaths.
