Why I'm standing

I am running for election because Manurewa is my home and is home to so many people that I love. Manurewa is a diverse community and that should be reflected on our local board. Manurewa also has a very young population and therefore youth development and wellbeing must be a priority in our community.

About me

I have experience as a family and youth worker for a Manurewa-based NGO. The experience provided me with an awareness of key issues affecting the wellbeing and living standards of Manurewa residents. I have also worked for the Ministry of Māori Development and the Ministry of Health. These roles gave me great insight into the machinery of central government and how advocacy can ensure more support and resourcing is injected into the community of Manurewa.

My priorities
  1. Regenerate and beautify the Puhinui stream, the Manukau harbour and Weymouth beach.
  2. Develop a state-of-the-art Manurewa Youth Hub inclusive of a jobs and skills hub.
  3. Support a mana whenua advisory function within the Manurewa Local Board.
