Taradale Ward
The Napier City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Four councillors will be elected from the Taradale ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I want to continue serving our community, ensuring strategic decisions are made in a timely manner, providing direction to management on the levels of service and activities that our community need delivered to encourage economic growth, employment opportunities and greater social well-beings. Napier needs to progress and focus on our collective future and a Napier that is the best city in which to work, raise a family and enjoy a safe and satisfying life.

About me

I have served the Napier community for over 20 years, working with our community as a public servant working directly with mayors and chief executives. I have a masters in business administration and understand how good governance operates. I have the skills and knowledge to contribute at the council table and in the development of our city's strategic planning and finances. In my first term on council I have held significant roles.

My priorities
  1. Keep rates increases to an affordable and sustainable level.
  2. Focus on core council business and ensure decision making is more efficient and effective.
  3. Get things done, like the war memorial, new pool, library, aquarium and civic building.
