Nelson City Council

Stoke-Tāhunanui General Ward
The Nelson City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. Four councillors will be elected from the Stoke-Tāhunanui General ward. The other councillors will be elected from other wards or by all voters in the district. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Nelson City Council election.

Why I'm standing

Council needs "A Fresh Approach". It's no secret the community's view on and confidence in council has dropped and we need to change that. It is time to put the community first and I am stoked to be putting my hand up to lead that change. Our community is my only priority should I be elected, and I'm committed to working with all of council to make Stoke and Tāhunanui an awesome community for generations.

About me

Currently sit on the board of Hockey Nelson, Big Brothers Big Sisters Nelson Tasman and a member of Rotary, long-time supporter and player in local Tahuna FC and Stoke Hockey sides. Former youth council member. A core part of the Rollo family's strong involvement in our local business community of over 40 years, alongside being raised and residing in Tāhunanui.

My priorities
  1. Accessible for all. Fight for the needs which are often overlooked and thrown into the hard basket.
  2. Good infrastructure. Keeping our sports grounds operational. Investing and enhancing this sector.
  3. I'm committed to working with all of council to make Stoke and Tāhunanui an awesome community for all.
