Nelson City Council

Stoke-Tāhunanui General Ward
The Nelson City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 12 councillors and the mayor. Four councillors will be elected from the Stoke-Tāhunanui General ward. The other councillors will be elected from other wards or by all voters in the district. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

After many years in the Army, it has given me skills and knowledge that have served me well outside of the Army as well as giving me a sense of duty to one's community. I feel now is the right time to put myself forward to do this as I am now able to give the time that is required to serve my community as a councillor.

About me

For the past six years, I have owned my own business within the transport and tourism sector in Nelson. My background is in logistics and transport with the New Zealand Army. I know how to work within a group environment with no egos, listen clearly, ask questions to get a better picture of what is required of me. And above all else, I will always do right.
