Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board

The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of seven members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Four members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Continue to support the Puhinui to Botany bus route and advocate for a Southern Spur to Manukau.

    Roll out a full cycle network to ensure safer journeys for cyclists and to provide separation where possible from pedestrians.

    Advocate for free public transport.

  • Establish public transport using smaller electric cars and vans in feeder routes to and from transport hubs, using an Uber-style app.

    Extend safe cycling and pedestrian access across the region, including more pedestrian crossing and pedestrian-controlled lights.

    Establish rental bikes and scooters at transport hubs.
