Puketāpapa Local Board

The Puketāpapa Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Advocate for more frequent bus services in Mount Roskill and more HOP card outlets. Support better pay for bus drivers.

    Advocate for road safety through appropriate speed reducing measures and safe usable footpaths.

  • Investing in park and ride stations, particularly on the periphery of the city.

    Enhancing off-street carparks in local town centres.

  • Support the light rail and a train connection between Avondale and Onehunga via highway 20.

    More cycleways for kids in the side streets.

  • Work towards a range of safe and equitable transport options so people can get around easily and safely.

    Enhance our existing public transport services with extra bus shelters that can also be used by seniors and others for seating and shelter.

    Continue developing our Greenways network for better pedestrian and cycling options, linking up key destinations.

  • Request additional investment from Auckland Transport into repairing and upgrading Puketāpapa's footpaths.

    Request further investment into bus shelters around Roskill South shops and along the 68, 670 and 25L bus routes.

    Request Auckland Transport begin an assessment of Dominion Road and how it works for all users, initial focus on pedestrian crossings and Denbigh roundabout.

  • Support the continuation of half-price or fares-free public transport, to reduce costs of living and reduce our congestion emissions.

    Work with government to establish more cycle lanes and discourage the politicisation of bikes versus cars when both can exist successfully.

    Ensure that roads and footpaths are safe, particularly during this period of intense development – by being a responsive local board member.
