Rangiora-Ashley Community Board

Rangiora Subdivision
The Rangiora-Ashley Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waimakariri District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the community board area. Six members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Rangiora-Ashley Community Board election.

  • Take an active role to listen to the community voice and communicate effectively back to encourage a strong collaboration across our district.

    Engage and seek relevant views of local youth through local schools.

  • Re-evaluate the council's infrastructure in light of our rates being the third highest in NZ and over $1k over the national average.

    Look at the bottom line and monies paid to contractors. Look at the bang for the buck and if the council are actually evaluating return on investment.

    Report on all counsellors and community board effectiveness throughout the three-year period not just at election time. What are we paying for?

  • Inform public of subject of community board presentations to encourage their attendance when possible.

    Update the community on issues such as our health hub via popular online sites such as Neighbourly.
