Councils are currently also responsible for managing waste water, storm water and drinking water infrastructure – the ‘Three Waters’. But that may be about to change, with central government seeking to shift the delivery of Three Waters services to four new larger entities, which could borrow enough to upgrade the country’s water infrastructure.

Promote investment or partnership to establish a local recycling facility, for recycling, not currently able to be recycled regionally.
Promote investigation into alternative parking arrangements in the central business areas.
Commit to a wellbeing approach to getting businesses and residents the support they need, whether by the council or 3rd party.
Support local control of Three Waters with central funding if necessary to improve the standard of infrastructure as needed.
Explore ways to improve access to health services locally.
Promote reduce, reuse, recycle throughout our community and target construction waste. We can do better and think outside the box!
Advocate to ensure the local retention of Three Waters to protect our local water assets.
Advocate and support the progression of the after hours health facility and increase well-being support for our community needs.
Protect our precious infrastructure. Continue to invest in keeping it at world class standards and the envy of the rest of New Zealand.
Promote Snap, Send, Solve to report things that need fixing or improving.
