Wainuiomata Community Board

The Wainuiomata Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Hutt City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Supporting local businesses especially after covid and a huge e-commerce flood, ensuring they are looked after by the council.

    Pushing for more industry and important business in the nui. e.g more factories, a bank, clothing shop.

  • Youth employment is a big thing we need to keep doing the youth programmes we have and expand more if needed.

    We need to make sure that tourism is worked on, Wainuiomata needs a tourism policy and people working on it.

    Local business needs support after COVID-19 we need people to support these businesses, and we need other shops opened to.

  • Advocate for good infrastructure upgrades and planning to coincide with any developments in Wainuiomata.

  • Make the most of the connection between people that could be working, and work that needs doing.
