Mayor of Wellington

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Wellington City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

The council has completely lost its way. It needs to be focused on providing core services, not pandering to dubious ideologies.

About me

Having lived in Wellington from a child, I appreciate the reasons why people live here and why they bring up their families here. I am committed to keeping the best of Wellington, while ensuring its proper functioning.

My priorities
  1. Deliver on core services, such as the Three Waters (the pipes).
  2. Scrap the Zero Carbon policy and stop the rollout of the cycle network.
  3. Scrap the policy of open-ended expansion Wellington's reserves at the expense of private property.
