Mayor of Wellington

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Our wonderful city is facing challenges and I want to take action so my kids have a good future here. My priorities focus on what a city council can do in the next three years to address our big issues.

About me

I've been working in the community for constructive change in many groups and know the issues that face us with some clear ideas on how to improve them. I've got the experience and skills to find a collaborative way to make the changes we need. I strongly support a more just and equitable society, we are better together.

My priorities
  1. Support better climate friendly transport with rapid mode shift based on our transport strengths.
  2. Develop more and varied green spaces.
  3. Provide quality affordable accessible housing.
