Mayor of Wellington

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Wellington City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I want to bring vibrancy and life back to our city. I have the strong leadership and bold vision to make that happen. I also have the negotiation skills and communication ability to unify our council and get our projects moving. I have excellent relationships with central government and can get Wellington the best funding possible. It's time for a fresh and enthusiastic leader to make this happen.

About me

I put people and the environment at the heart of my decision making and values. Through running a political party, I have significant experience in leadership, crisis management, negotiation, team building and political management. I am charismatic, a clear communicator and know how to get things done. I'm a relationship builder, pragmatic and respect all views. I just want to make it all work.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise fixing our water infrastructure to stop leaks, manage our sewage system and water quality.
  2. A world-leading urban revitalisation project, with integrated housing and transport solutions.
  3. Fund community organisations dedicated to reducing alcohol and drug harm, and mental health services.
