Wellington City Council

Pukehīnau/Lambton General Ward
The Wellington City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Three councillors will be elected from the Pukehīnau/Lambton ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Wellington City Council election.

Why I'm standing

This city has been too good to me, to not give back in the best way I know how and that is by serving its interests and the serving Wellingtonians on a council platform. I know there should be more representation on council for people like myself and I am honoured to be able to put myself forward.

About me

I am a student, a mum, a public servant, a unionist, and a Wellingtonian at heart. Next to my lived experience which gives me an elevated appreciation for democracy, I also have strong skills that I have built up over the years from the private to the public sector. And I am one to utilise all that I have to ensure best outcomes for the people that I serve.

My priorities
  1. Housing!!! Because it is a fundamental right that everyone is in a safe warm dry affordable home.
  2. Infrastructure – if it's not built well we will feel the repercussions along with generations to come.
  3. Transport – this goes hand in hand with other priorities. The city needs to be accessible and safe.
