Why I'm standing

Wellington is a wonderful city, but I am frustrated by the behaviour and poor decision-making of our current council. Many councillors refuse to debate issues, and appear to be locked into ideological positions on decisions, often based on political allegiances. They are not making decisions based on what is best for our city. I want to see a council that is more collaborative, more willing to listen and more tuned into what people are saying.

About me

I'm a former journalist and current public servant. I've been a manager in the public sector for 10 years. I've been the chair of the Aro Valley Community Council, and convenor of LIVE WELLington, a group set up to champion density done well. I enjoy meeting people and understanding what makes the city tick. I am determined to make decisions based on evidence and data, to get the best outcome for the city's scarce dollars.

My priorities
  1. Champion the retention of more of Wellington's character housing, in the District Plan review.
  2. Establish an urban development authority to build affordable homes in places like Adelaide Road.
  3. Review Let's Get Wellington Moving priorities and governance to ensure the programme will deliver value for money.
