Wellington City Council

Wharangi/Onslow-Western General Ward
The Wellington City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Three councillors will be elected from the Wharangi/Onslow-Western ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Wellington City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I want to bring our city together by inviting the connectedness and opportunities of inner city life out to the suburbs. I can see Wellington's potential slipping away as our dire housing situation forces people to leave, just when clean infrastructure projects need them to stay.

About me

I am committed to Wellington being for everyone. I'm here to drive change for you, while acknowledging the council's responsibilities are complex and nuanced. In my personal life, I've been involved in arts, events and organising local groups.

My priorities
  1. House people in ways that support affordable and sustainable communities.
  2. Enable business to enrich and enhance local neighbourhoods.
  3. Connect walking and public transport infrastructure to break car-dependence and reduce suburban isolation.
