Wellington City Council

Wharangi/Onslow-Western General Ward
The Wellington City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Why I'm standing

I want to restore Wellington's "coolest little capital" title so that this is a place that talent wants to live, can live and most importantly – thrives. I want to be a bold voice at the table that ensures decision-making is made from a place of sound policy and evidence. But honestly, the core reason I'm standing is the duty I feel I owe my children to create a Wellington they can flourish in.

About me

I am a firefighter, a first responder, a team leader, a union representative and a father. I know teamwork is vital to tackling a crisis, and our city is in crisis. We need courageous and positive players who can tackle any issues head-on to create a city we and future generations want to live in. I combine progression and pragmatism and am committed to a brighter, more sustainable future for our community.

My priorities
  1. The past – the infrastructure deficit needs to be addressed and rectified.
  2. The present – unsustainable rate rises mean we have to look at how we spend, budget, fund and finance.
  3. The future – climate change waits for no one. We need to start our adaptation plan now.
