Mayor of Dunedin

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Dunedin City Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

I am running because I want to see Dunedin's future built on practical solutions, common sense, and long-term planning. I believe the council should focus on delivering core services well, listening to its residents, and making decisions that work for everyone. I care deeply about our city and want to ensure it remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

About me

I bring real-world problem-solving skills from running a local business and working closely with people from all walks of life. I listen carefully, act decisively, and believe in fair, transparent decision-making. My experience has taught me the value of communication, accountability, and following through on commitments to the community.

My priorities
  1. Get up to date with maintenance on essential services to ensure reliability and safety.
  2. Upgrade ageing infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing and changing city.
  3. Improve road maintenance to reduce hazards and keep transport networks safe and reliable.
