Mayor of Dunedin

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I believe the government is a joke and has ignored the interests of students, amongst others. I am running to implement policies that will benefit everybody, not just our local representatives and their friends.

About me

I am the leader of the Silly Hat Party and see the potential in Ōtepoti Dunedin. I believe honest, radically moderate and serious ideas have their place, and that place is Dunedin.

My priorities

Restore seriousness by way of a permanent culture war to distract everyone.
Reduce sandflies gathering at the beach to be left in peace.
Make it less cold so people can go for walks past five in the evening.
