Lower Hutt City Council

Hutt City At Large
The Lower Hutt City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 13 councillors and the mayor. This election is for the five councillors elected by all voters in the city. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the city). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. The Security Noticeboard

Why I'm standing

I have run the Hutt Valley security noticeboard for the past eight years and have seen no progress or dedicated focus on the safety of the people of the Hutt Valley or the security of their belongings. I want the best for the city I call home.

About me

I have worked for many businesses in and around the Hutt Valley including starting my own over the past 25 years. I rented in the Hutt for approximately 15 years. I have run the Hutt Valley security noticeboard for the past eight years and assisted hundreds if not thousands of locals and businesses after they became victims of crime. I believe in focusing on local crime. I am stubborn and I want to bring change.

My priorities
  1. Implement a focus on the safety and security of people and their belongings in and around Lower Hutt.
  2. Advocate for a council that works within its means and require employment and operating cost reviews.
  3. Bring neighbourhoods closer together through local events as connected communities are safer communities.
