Why I'm standing
I believe the Nelson ratepayer is being taken for a ride and I feel I have the time and devotion to stand up and put a voice forward to slow the runaway freight train that is our council's exhausting of ratepayer funds. Year-on-year increased rates are not a solution when our incomes are stagnant. As a mechanic I am trained to fix things, and there is much to repair.
About me
I am a well-disciplined hard worker and I put in the time and effort needed in all I do. I feel passionate around issues relating to a clean, safe and progressive Nelson and feel I am needed in this time of economic instability. As someone who has worked alongside council contractors I have witnessed waste, theft and corruption relating to taxpayer money and I personally am disgusted yet motivated to sort this.
My priorities
- Control rate increases, which are becoming a means to an end at the hand of council open checkbooks. No more.
- Clean streets and no more filthy trucks dragging mud over our roads at our expense while they profit.
- Reduce pest presence, seagulls and bird waste around our food service areas.
