Why I'm standing

I want to be a strong voice for you in council. I want to listen to your concerns, ideas and aspirations for our future. I want to help build a stronger more accountable council together. Nelson is growing, people are moving here for our sunny warm climate, outdoor sports, safe environment and vibrant arts. My vision for Nelson is a region that can sustain growth while allowing the community to thrive.

About me

I am a proud sixth generation Nelsonian, I feel very lucky to be able to raise my family here and feel very connected and privileged to belong to this community. I have a strong business background owning Austin Transport Services for 20 years, I sold 80% of the business and this has allowed me the time to run for council. Experience includes business management, running budgets, working on large capital projects and working with and leading teams.

My priorities
  1. Cap rates increases to 5% due to concerns about spiralling rates and wasteful spending.
  2. Address poor road planning, which causes gridlocks and congestion, using my 25 years transportation experience.
  3. Support projects to enable more affordable housing due to widespread unaffordability.
