Why I'm standing

Many people believe the council has lost touch with the community. I wish to reverse that. The constant clamour is rates are too high, they do not listen to our submissions, decisions are already made. This needs to change and control is back in the hands of the public.

About me

I have had a varied life course and so been exposed to the good, the bad and the ugly. Council is about good governance, a skill which really comes from life skills not just the classroom. Management is provided by the staff. From Scouts to Speleology, from school board to trustee, business to golf, cycling the length of NZ to driving the length of Italy to owning nothing to rise up again. Me.

My priorities
  1. Believe in the right of everyone to be heard as democracy is a system approximately 2500 years old.
  2. Promote openness and clarity for all constituents and bring it back to the power of one.
  3. Reduce costs and increase income through frugality and profit promotion.
