Why I'm standing

Voted by Lonely Planet the best city of its size in the world a few years back, I am keen to firstly maintain, then enhance New Plymouth and the district which surrounds it. I seek value for money from all that we do, so that we can provide further enhancement to firstly the essential infrastructure then the nice to haves whilst maintaining the vibrant nature of our district at an affordable price.

About me

Having served my communities of residence from a young age beginning in sports clubs committees, coaching, chairing and being treasurer for school boards of trustees, representing farmer and shareholder views on the West Coast Lessees Association for over 30 years as well as Fonterra Shareholder Council for several years (chair of the representation committee), recently trained mediator with AMINZ, mentoring with BBBS and helping many in the community to plan better outcomes.

My priorities
  1. Institute better systems of contract performance and cost control to preserve budget integrity.
  2. Reprioritise essential infrastructure over nice to haves in the long-term plan and cap rates to CPI.
  3. Develop better community engagement ensuring a robust, transparent, trusted decision-making process.
