Te Hirawanui General Ward
The Palmerston North City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 15 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). 13 councillors will be elected from the Te Hirawanui ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I believe we have huge potential but need to develop pride in Manawatu and Palmerston North. Create a vibrant city where business want to locate, students want to stay and settle. Infrastructure that supports education, transportation hub, defence, manufacturing, eco and agri tourism, hospitality. Community that celebrates 145 locally spoken languages and celebrates tangata whenua. Brings us together in a landscape that welcomed settlers 150 years ago. Hospitality, respect, pride, mana our big word.

About me

A business man, coach, NZ Business Mentor, trainer and conservationist. Life member World Wide Fund for Nature, on many communities and boards, Life Underwriters Assn, Theosophical Society, NZ Motorcycle Association Inc President, DGR Host, RECAP committee Ashhurst. As a business owner, I have served both my clients and community, can read a balance sheet, trained project manager, and currently coaching and a NZ Business Mentor. I bring these experiences to serve our community.
