Why I'm standing
We have a great, unique city. It is a great place to raise kids. Concern exists about rates rises, out-of-control spending, roading developments that do not serve the people and borrowing that has to be paid back. Need to control the huge outpouring of money on things that are not necessary.
About me
I have faithfully served the people of Palmerston North for over 40 years in voluntary, community and professional roles. I am standing for council because our city needs fiscal and community responsibility. I believe in putting residents first, focusing on the basics, and making sure council lives within its means. I believe a council should listen and work for the residents.
My priorities
- Investigate council spending on consultants thoroughly.
- Listen to submissions from residents and act on them. Vote according to ratepayer wishes.
- See what can be done to improve Featherston Street and try to ensure it never happens again.
