Why I'm standing

I'm very motivated to help first-time homeowners, which my son and his partner are one, as of this year. Being a councillor will allow me to make a direct contribution, which will not only help Porirua's homeowners through limiting rates increases, but also our rental community that pay rates indirectly through weekly rental payments. We all benefit through lower rates!

About me

What I can offer the community is a set of commercial skills that have been developed as a small business owner in the residential construction sector. I understand the importance of strong governance and fiscal responsibility that funds activities delivering a return on investment, delivering projects within budget and on schedule.

My priorities
  1. Cap rates to inflation and allow increases only through community referendum.
  2. Ensure strong governance by focusing on financial stability, compliance with laws and focussed management.
  3. Deliver greater transparency by building trust, inviting collaboration and a shared mission.
