Rangiora-Ashley Community Board

Rangiora Subdivision
The Rangiora-Ashley Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waimakariri District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the community board area. Six members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support education on recycling and waste minimisation in the district.

  • Actively manage and maintain the district's green spaces.

    Implement more efficient and wider-reaching waste minimisation programmes by supporting recycling initiatives and establishing food forests.

    Plant more trees and native habitats, including Milton Park in Rangiora and the many other domains, parks and wetlands in the district.

  • Promote the establishment of food forests in the community to allow people to connect and thrive whilst imparting vital knowledge and skills.

    Support opportunities for more efficient and easier recycling initiatives and promote education on waste minimisation.

  • Find a way to reduce illegal waste dumping.

    Promote sustainable and effective pest and weed control methods in parks and reserves.
