Why I'm standing

I am standing because I want to protect this environment that sustains us all. I believe climate change isn't something far away, it is here and urgent. I want to reduce the impacts on our community and to manage them when they happen in future. I acknowledge the former Waitākere City Council has ensured that we have great bones to build from, and I am committed to helping create neighbourhoods for our families that are safer, more equitable and genuinely sustainable.

About me

I am a westie with two terms as a local board member and know how council and governance works. I have a 100% attendance rate and a track record of doing the mahi. I have degrees in both business and anthropology and am a certified project manager. Over my career, I have worked across housing, transport, education and conservation. I have self-built a low-energy ecohome with my husband and am really passionate about people and community.

My priorities
  1. Protect people and nature with meaningful climate action and preparedness.
  2. Fix congestion and lower emissions, getting the city moving smarter, cheaper and healthier.
  3. Secure funding to empower communities to lead in the areas they know best.
