Why I'm standing

I love our area. I want our local board to be as powerful and effective as possible to ensure we get great service and value for rates. I believe the super city has not delivered for the west. I want to make sure our voice is well heard in central Auckland and around the Watercare and Auckland Transport boardroom table. I believe we need politicians who listen, are effective, committed, accountable, work with others and represent local views.

About me

I grew up, built a house and raised a family with my partner Janet in the Waitākere Ranges. I have served my local community as a fire chief, a board member on community groups and as an organiser of local events. I have worked in and around local government for nearly 40 years. I know how it works and does not. I am passionate about working locally with local decision-making and getting stuff done.

My priorities
  1. Push to get local back into local government, including local contracting, services, suppliers and facilities.
  2. Support making roads, drains and facilities more resilient to big weather events.
  3. Build stronger communities and better services by supporting local groups, volunteers and tradies.
