Why I'm standing

I want to ensure that Whau Local Board continues to work constructively and collaboratively for the benefit of Whau residents. After many years of funding cuts, the local board is now able to improve the range of services and facilities provided to our community. I want to ensure that those services and facilities are of a high quality and provide what our community actually wants and needs.

About me

My background is in secondary teaching and management, including as deputy principal at Mt Roskill Grammar School. I am connected to the Whau community, such as being a volunteer at New Lynn Citizens Advice Bureau and a board member of two community organisations. This range of experience has given me the skills to represent our residents. My commitment to the community is driven by my belief in the principles and values of the Labour Party.

My priorities
  1. Support and fund community groups, hubs and houses to provide services for Whau residents.
  2. Support and fund environmental organisations and volunteer groups to make Whau a better place.
  3. Commit to developing a Whau community resilience network for future emergency events.
