Why I'm standing

I believe it is healthy for the community board to have a variety of views from the bays and Eastbourne on the significant issues it is asked to consider. With a long career in journalism and communications for various professional organisations and a law degree completed as a mature student, I feel I can make a useful contribution to the board's work.

About me

Raised in York Bay, I came back to live in the family home 15 years ago and have taken an active interest in local issues since then. I was a volunteer with Victim Support for 8+ years, and am now an Okiwi volunteer driver, an active member of Eastbourne's Historical Society and the York Bay Residents' Association, and have assisted with Butterfly Creek Theatre Troupe productions.

My priorities
  1. Maintain clear two-way communication channels between residents and the board.
  2. See satisfactory completion of Marine Drive's cycling/walking path, and a reliable bus service.
  3. Work for housing intensification to align with climate change mitigation measures.
