Hamilton City Council

East General Ward
The Hamilton City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Six councillors will be elected from the East ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I believe our city is incredible! I would like to see more art and culture supported. This will allow for a thriving city centre and with borders opening a great opportunity to show off our city as a tourism destination.

About me

I am passionate about my arts community! I am not afraid to reach out to experts and listen to those in, not only, our city but wider industries to ensure that what I am bringing to the table is the best possible solution for our city!

My priorities
  1. Support our art and cultural communities!
  2. Encourage industries such as film and music in investing in our city.
  3. Support framework for the sustainability of our new regional theatre.
