Hamilton City Council

East General Ward
The Hamilton City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Six councillors will be elected from the East ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council election.

Why I'm standing

To get involved and be the change that I seek in this world. Working through issues together with communities, role modelling, listening and supporting them along the way. I want to create an environment where we leave it in a better shape than how we found it for our children, our future leaders. I am filled with genuine passion and purpose.

About me

My knowledge, skills and experiences have allowed me to become an influential leader that tackles problems with innovation and transformational change. Demand quality and character over reputation. There is a clear pattern that has carried into my career that the most fulfilling roles were when I was serving those who were fighting against the odds. I believe in objective-based discussions, preserving relationships and love coaching individual abilities to translate into collective greatness at work.

My priorities
  1. Preserve homes of heritage value and special character to retain the history of Hamilton.
  2. Implement speed bumps around all schools in Hamilton.
  3. Set up an accountability group for the way council spends money.
