Hamilton City Council

East General Ward
The Hamilton City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Six councillors will be elected from the East ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I stand for a healthy city: a place that's green, well planned and where neighbours and neighbourhoods are connected and have all they need close by. One that's easy to get around, safely and in a low carbon way. And a city that attracts new businesses and encourages innovation, where there's great jobs and opportunities for everyone.

About me

I am a current Hamilton City Councillor and I offer everything I have learned in my first term on council plus my life experience in finance, advocacy, and community representation.

My priorities
  1. Invest in community facilities in preparation for increased housing density.
  2. Promote a range of transport options that are safe, ease congestion and reduce carbon emissions.
  3. Develop and fund an action plan that addresses the effects of climate change.
