Why I'm standing
I have a wide range of skills and experience, particularly in strategy, leadership and governance that will provide strength to council. I believe that the council should be operating more strategically with a long term vision and a commitment to making things happen. Council needs to encourage and support progress, innovation and creativity rather than put bureaucratic road blocks in the way. I will do my best to address these issues.
About me
I have been a Kāpiti resident for over twenty years and have made extensive community connections in that time. I am an active Rotarian, former Chair of the Chamber of Commerce, founding Chair of Kāpiti Economic Development Association (KEDA) and Trustee of Creative Kāpiti Charitable Trust. For nine years I was the Deputy Chair of Nikau Foundation. I am a successful business woman and have a reputation for integrity and trustworthiness.
My priorities
- Invest in economic development to create local jobs and a vibrant local economy
- Create a customer-focused culture within Kāpiti Coast District Council, particularly in the regulatory area.
- Take steps to address climate change by creating a sense of urgency and educating people.
