Kāpiti Coast District Council

Kāpiti Coast District At Large
The Kāpiti Coast District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. Why I'm standing

I'm standing because we need people on council who take climate change seriously, who value our land, coast, wetlands, rivers and streams. People who think about those who are struggling as well as those doing okay, who can be clear about what's going on and will listen to what the community wants.

About me

I've got strong leadership and strategy experience. I'm a writer, I trained as a librarian, and I have worked with information and data for the last 25 years. I've been working for years to create change, and now I am ready to help make Kāpiti the kind of place where every one of us, our kids and their kids can live safe, full, interesting and healthy lives.

My priorities
  1. Adopt a strategy that makes Kāpiti carbon net-zero by 2040.
  2. Pay council employees and contractors a living wage.
  3. Work with central government and mana whenua to create more affordable housing.
