  • Infill housing and intensification legislation has just been set by central government. We must not apply the legislation.

Support limited social housing such as pensioner flats. I do not believe council has a place funding wide ranging social housing.

The Kāpiti Airport is private land and it is the council's responsibility to work with the developer for the best outcome for the community.

  • Assist central government with the provision of adequate land and focus consenting activities to facilitate building of social housing.

Get council out of the way. Councils should be making it easier to get things done rather than creating obstacles.

  • Support and develop outcomes from the consultation on the Community Land Trust. Empower community lead approach as part of ongoing solution.

Advocate for a review of our regulatory approach to housing/consenting. Kāpiti is challenged in this space, and it has to change.

Work towards housing standards and checks that regulate a minimum standard, ensuring all housing is warm and fit for healthy living.
