Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board

The Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper.     Talk to the new industrial businesses appearing on the Taieri to find out what they need from council to ensure success.

  • Set up a group to help small businesses to thrive and understanding effective management of profit and loss.

    Efficiently promoting and managing the Dunedin stadium to bring in revenue.

    Promoting and supporting local trades and business with apprenticeship and pilot programme for fresh graduates to boost staffing shortage.

  • Advocate for the use of local businesses where appropriate for projects on the Taieri.

  • Collaborate with local community to create a community space that includes an exciting area for youth recreation and social connection.

    Recognise and promote local businesses and individuals that sponsor and continually support local community initiatives.

    Ensure projects or submissions identified for tourism in the local area are financially and environmentally sustainable.

  • Work with the community to explore options for teenagers to get work experience and life skills within various aspects of the community.

    Encourage new business to start within our area with a view to being sustainable and able to help others.
