Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board

The Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Mosgiel-Taieri Community Board election.

    Accountability to liquor licence holder to uphold the rules regarding sales.

  • Hold a public meeting to thrash out the access to the new Mosgiel pool ensuring that the Dunedin City Council listen to the local community.

    Continue to advocate for improved sports and recreational facilities to equate to the massive recent growth on the Taieri.

    Fast-track the reopening of unused rail tunnels to offer cycle access from Mosgiel to Dunedin without affecting the road network.

  • Continue to improve public facilities with cost effective infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.

    Establish effective relationships with liquor licensing recipients for good social outcomes.

    Collaborate effective community partnerships to organise and assist to fund memorable community events.

  • Build a centre for the teenagers of the town to be able to enjoy themselves in both an indoor/outdoor environment with various activities.

    Create more green areas for parents and children to gather and enjoy with tables and games for children of a younger age.

    Create a social hub which could be utilised for family, cultural or social events with amenities such as reading areas, games areas etc.
