Why I'm standing

I believe that in order for community boards to be truly representative of their communities they need to be inclusive of younger participants. At 31, I will be a proponent of the hopes, challenges and concerns that young people have. I will bring a different perspective and set of experiences that enable me to advocate on behalf of younger generations who I believe are currently underrepresented in and disempowered by political decision-making processes.

About me

I've chosen to make Motueka my home because I'm drawn to the natural beauty of this area and I care deeply about protecting it for future generations. I'm especially passionate about the relationship between public and environmental health which I understand is intrinsically linked. We cannot have one without the other and it's this core belief that will be at the heart of all decisions I'll make as a community board member.

My priorities
  1. Work towards making our community a safer, fairer and healthier place for everyone.
  2. Support local conservation and restoration efforts.
  3. Prepare our community for the increasing challenges that will result from climate change.
