Why I'm standing

I want Palmerston North to be a safe, vibrant and caring place to live, with opportunities for all. Council strategies and policies need to support business, protect the environment and encourage community wellbeing and inclusiveness. I'm concerned about the affordability of rates – council costs have increased substantially. We need to make some changes to our plans so that we have sustainable and responsible budget going forward.

About me

I listen to my community, and work hard to reflect the views of my community in the decisions I make at council. I offer a common-sense and evidence-based approach. I've promoted transparency of decision-making and accountability. I have been proactive in promoting more financially responsible pathway. I do what I say I will do. I am consistent with delivering on the commitments I make at election time, and will continue to do this.

My priorities
  1. Ensure that rates are affordable and increases are capped to average local wage increases.
  2. Promote Community well-being and a safe inclusive community.
  3. Ensure transparency of council processes and decisions.
