Why I'm standing

I have greatly enjoyed my time on the Board so far and want to continue the work begun on improving the environment, offering better transport choices, increasing community participation and creating better neighbourhoods. Puketāpapa is changing rapidly, with Kāinga Ora redeveloping multiple neighbourhoods and it is vital we have engaged communities and strong advocacy at the table. The Manukau Harbour, Te Auaunga and Wairaki Stream and our parks are taonga we need to protect.

About me

Over the last three years I have dedicated myself to the board, becoming deputy chair in early 2021 and representing the board on the Manukau Harbour Forum as the Chair. I work collaboratively with a wide range of people, focused on getting the best outcome for Puketāpapa and the wider Tāmaki Makaurau region. I have successfully secured extra funding for Puketāpapa through Auckland Transport and advocacy to the Governing Body, bringing extra benefits to our community.

My priorities
  1. Support expansion of the Puketāpapa Greenway Network to improve walking and cycling safety.
  2. Partner with community groups to continue engaging the diverse communities of Puketāpapa.
  3. Request additional investment from Auckland Transport into repairing and upgrading our footpaths.
