Rodney Local Board

Warkworth Subdivision
The Rodney Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of nine members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Three members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Urban Warkworth needs good clean drinking water that does not taste like chemicals. We need to safeguard our rural communities.

  • Advocate and collaborate with community members who are working to improve our environment, to help promote and support their initiatives.

    Ensure protection of water quality for now and future generations, and work with community to support that.

    Improve waste minimisation and services offered to promote recycling, and minimise environmental risk from waste disposal services.

  • Improve quality in our streams and harbours by supporting community groups with riparian fencing and planting and water quality monitoring.

    Ensure our boat owners are able to keep their boats free of invasive pests by supporting boat ramps, haul-out facilities, and yacht clubs.

    Encourage and support community initiatives for environmental sustainability.
