Rodney Local Board

Warkworth Subdivision
The Rodney Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of nine members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the local board area. Three members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. From parks and libraries to museums and art galleries, councils can be a key supporter of sporting, recreational and cultural events that bring communities to life. Community facilities, including sports grounds and town halls, are often owned and run by councils.

  • Provide free community access to local pools.

    Develop community facilities and enable the local community to build and enhance the recreational use of parks and reserves.

    Fund local clubs, teams, and organisations to provide engaging activities for our children.

  • Consult with the community on what their needs and wants are for their area and make those the priorities for allocated funds.

    Support local groups who run community events to assist with organisation, promotion, and meeting council event requirements.

    Investigate providing facilities through council and central government partnerships, eg shared funding of a pool used by community and schools.

  • Support building an all weather multipurpose recreation and sports facility and community swimming pool, with a bike and skate park.

    Our children – our residents currently have very limited access to all weather facilities available to them.
