Why I'm standing

I believe the incumbent politicians have not properly kept the council in check, in part because they do not have the some of the requisite expertise. I am a self-employed civil engineer by trade who specialises in transportation, and have had around a decade experience in local government. I want to bring some critical thinking to the table which has to date been in large part missing.

About me

I have run my own business since 2015, and moved to Taupō from West Auckland in 2016. I have connections to local churches including Taupō Baptist and Church 109, and have previously led small youth and adult group meetings. I am a team player who is a previous territorial soldier and bass guitarist in a church band.

My priorities
  1. More closely supervise infrastructure expenditure and keep rates down with smarter decision making.
  2. Introduce evening council meetings so that members of the public can better have their input.
  3. Support the introduction of new industries especially non-tourism based to employ young people.
