Why I'm standing

This is our home of over 30 years. I want to continue working to make it the best district in NZ. In three years I have learned an enormous amount about local government. With that experience I am well placed to advocate strongly for Taupō. With the pace and scale of change occurring we need an experienced capable voice advocating for this district. I'm standing because I believe I can provide that voice.

About me

After 44+ years in police, 20 at a senior level I have well developed analytical skills assisting in critical decision making. I have extensive voluntary work experience in Taupō across the social sector (Women's Refuge 28 years), sports (Ironman volunteer every year) and Search and Rescue. Combined with the last three years as a district councillor I have both the knowledge and experience to govern effectively for all of Taupō.

My priorities
  1. Ensure the housing strategy is completed and executed in a way that enhances the Taupō District.
  2. See the major current projects completed, Waiora House, airport, town centre transformation.
  3. Ensure our local voice is heard on major issues nationally, Three Waters, RMA, local government reform.
